Mandarin FAME set for Beijing premiere and tour of China!
It’s been nearly 30 years since the award winning 1980 movie classic hit the silver screen and 15 years since its record breaking launch as a smash-hit live stage musical that continues to charm audiences worldwide. Now that China’s Ministry of Culture has opened its entertainment industry to foreign investors, Phoenix Entertainment ventures into China under the direction of Nederlander New Century for the exciting new presentation of a first class Mandarin language production of FAME.
A workshop presentation will commence this October at The Beijing Central Academy and will be followed by a professional touring company of Chinese actors launching the tour in March of 2009. Shanghai, Beijing, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Hwangzhou, Nanjing, Taipei and Macau are just a sampling of the markets that are currently anticipating FAME-mania!

GREASE IN ASIA - TWICE AS NICE
Phoenix Entertainment continues the "GREASE MADNESS" in Asia! Their superb Korean cast now enters a third triumphant season with the native language production that has played to capacity crowds and glowing reviews. GREASE! spends the Summer of 2008 at Seoul's Dongsoong Art Center before touring southern cities throughout the Republic later this season. Can you say Rama Lama Ding Dong in Korean?
And just a bit further East, the American cast moved on to China where Phoenix Entertainment's International Touring Production of GREASE was the season's featured Broadway attraction at the 21st annual Macau International Music Festival. This prestigious festival brings world renowned programs including choirs, orchestras, singers and musicians presenting a range of works influenced by both Western and Chinese trends and traditions. GREASE was presented at the prestigious Grand Theatre in the Macau Cultural Center.
