Featuring Pop stars such as Son Ho Young, Eunhyuk (Super Junior), Tiffany (SNSD), Lina (CSJH), Jungmo (TRAX), and Kon, it has been predicted to attract international fans across Asia. A ticket buying war for this musical is stated to be inevitable. The version of "Fame" in Korea has a modern, fast paced feel that fits into current Korean society that can relate easily with those that come to watch. Passion for dreams, difficulties of love and hope are all themes that are worked in to stir the hearts of the audience. The show opened on November 25 at the Woori Geum Yoongah Art Hall.

It’s the one that they wanted when the hugely successful Phoenix tour of GREASE parted the US after three years on the road and made its way overseas to perform extensively throughout Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. The overwhelming crowd response in Seoul sparked a Korean language production (produced by Phoenix in association with OD Musical Company & CJ Entertainment) that continues its open ended run four years later. GREASE is definitely Still The Word!
In association with the prestigious Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, and in cooperation with Nederlander New Century, Phoenix made its maiden venture into China with the first-ever Mandarin language production of FAME. Featuring an amazing Chinese cast hand picked from the 2009 graduating musical theatre class of this prestigious Academy, it remains an experience that will live forever in the hearts and minds of our Phoenix family.

The “All American” Phoenix production of FAME – THE MUSICAL took Korea by storm in the Spring/Summer of 2005 where it enjoyed playing to capacity crowds in Seoul, Jeonju, Daegu, Gwangju and Busan. Not unlike our GREASE before it, the crowd response for FAME has motivated plans for an open-ended run in Seoul with an entirely Korean cast. That production takes flight Summer 2010. In 2003, Phoenix Entertainment and director/choreographer Sam Viverito mounted a production of THE KING AND I that truly was “Something Wonderful”. Presented at the LG Art Centre in Seoul, this production was presented with a complete Asian company of actors featuring Korean actress Kin Sunk Yung in the role of Anna Leonowens and also employed a full time Asian crew, under the supervision of the expert Phoenix team.

This interactive “Phoenix Original” brought Santa Claus and his musical friends to Seoul for a theatrical event that shared the magic and merriment of the most wonderful time of the year. In collaboration with Vincero Arts Management and Entertainment, East and West were brought together to celebrate the joy and music of Christmas in 2003.
In 2005 Phoenix Entertainment was proud to manage the United Kingdom tour of SCOOBY DOO IN STAGEFRIGHT– LIVE ON-STAGE. The production follows Scooby Doo and his friends Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne as they try to solve the mystery of missing jewels and ghostly hauntings on the set of a horror film. Scooby broke box office records and played to great success as it continued its journey around the globe.
LOVE DUETT is a classical concert featuring baroque arias by Handel, Mozart and Gluck sung by world famous Montreal based countertenor David DQ Lee and Germany based soprano Sunhae Im. Soothing Love, Painful Love, Conquering Love and Faithful & Devoted Love were the main themes for this concert conceived by Phoenix Entertainment in 2006. LOVE DUETT was a truly magical evening of romantic, classical arias.
Presented in 2007 at the Goyang Harmony Hall and the Seongnam Art Center in Korea, Phoenix presented these stops on the World Tour of SESAME STREET LIVE. “Elmo’s Coloring Book” followed Elmo and friends on a colorful musical journey through history. Along the way they learned the importance of sharing, diversity and acceptance of others. Phoenix was extremely proud to be a part of the Sesame Street family.
Mr. Kolodner has established himself as a unique magician by presenting interactive performances that seamlessly weave amazing magic illusions into classic fairy tales. Phoenix presented Mr. Kolodner’s show entitled “The Magical School for Wizards” at the Seoul Arts Center in 2004
This production, presented by Phoenix in 2006, followed Barney on a new musical adventure to a faraway castle with flags, trumpets and knights in shining armour. Barney took young audiences on a journey to the Kings Castle and the trip featuring singing, dancing and a colorful costume parade. Young audiences got a chance to meet Barney up close and personal when he visited Seoul, South Korea’s Educational Cultural center
May has long been recognized as “family month” in South Korea with children’s day on May 5 kicking off a month full of performances to celebrate the season. In 2004, Phoenix Entertainment presented DRAGON TALES LIVE in Seoul, South Korea as part of this celebration. Based on the popular animated television program, this musical was presented in 2004 at the Olympic Hall inside the historic Olympic Park.
David is currently one of the best countertenors of his generation. With his distinctive, graceful and powerful voice, he has paved new ways for countertenors to reach a mainstream, classical audience as he shows no limitations in his repertoires, having won various prestigious vocal competitions in Europe and North America. Phoenix Entertainment was proud to present David in Korea at the Sejong Arts center and the LG Art Center.
