Man of Lamancha

Man of Lamancha The Glorious Quest !

One of the great triumphs in American musical theatre history is well known to be the Tony Award winning Best Musical MAN OF LA MANCHA. This classic love story tells the dream weaving tale of Don Quiote on his enduring quest for peace, goodness, beauty and the alluring lady of his dreams, Dulcinea. The Phoenix production, directed by Sam Viverito and helmed by Steve McCoy and Tess Rohan, was the critical darling of the 2006-2007 touring season. Written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, MAN OF LA MANCHA boasts a haunting score that features "The Impossible Dream." The original production ran six years on Broadway and won five Tony awards including Best Musical.

The Critics Said

“McCoy is brilliant in the part!”
Lubbock Online

“Tess Rohan turns in one of the finest performances, taking a difficult role with moments bordering on hysteria and never letting it from her grasp. In the end, her transformation appears to go beyond mere conviction to true belief and acceptance that is most convincing.”
The Capitol Times

"The set designed by Michael Hotopp certainly tops any dungeon I’ve seen in “LaMancha” productions. It’s a cavernous belly of a jail worthy of any Broadway stage.”
The News-Press

“McCoy’s Cervantes leads the troupe with his strong presence. McCoy’s standing ovation was truly deserved!”
